Course Terms & Conditions

COURSE Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions explain how things our courses work. Read them carefully before you sign up for a course. Signing up is your agreement to them.

1. What we’re talking about here

1.1. Course Materials are the lessons, videos, downloads and other resources we provide with our courses.
1.2. Services are the training, webinars, coaching and support we provide.
1.3. We are us. You are, well you.

2. What the course is about

2.1.If you want to know more about a course than appears on our website then email support@reliabletrading.com and we can give you details.
2.2.
Some courses may be interactive (eg live webinars or coaching sessions), while others may not be (eg pre-recorded modules or reading-based).
2.3.
You might need to satisfactorily complete a certain course before enrolling in the next: that is, there can be pre-requisites.
2.4.
You might need to satisfactorily complete certain course work before moving forward in a course. We’ll let you know as you go. Usually this would be multiple choice as you progress through the course.
2.5.
We can change how courses work, although for the most part we try not to do this when courses are running.

3. Who can take our courses

3.1. You must be 18 or older to enrol. By enrolling, you are confirming this. We only accept humans (not companies for example, or robots).
3.2.
We generally won’t know where you are from: when you sign up and take a course, you are promising to us that no laws are being broken where you are by doing so.
3.3.
We do retain a discretion to refuse any person, but we generally would have a good reason to do so. Having said that we don’t need to give our reasons. If we have excluded someone from a course, it’s a matter for us whether they can complete the course or take others.

4. Being a good student

4.1. Everyone in our community must treat each other with respect and courtesy.
4.2.
Be fair, honest and kind when interacting with our team and other students.
4.3.
Don’t be offensive, misleading or harmful - if you wouldn’t say it to your Mum, it probably doesn’t belong here.
4.4.
Don’t use our Course Materials or Services to do anything that’s illegal or puts anyone at risk. Laws include those governing market manipulation and insider trading, as well as discrimination.

5. Logging in and access

5.1. You’ll need a stable internet connection (at least 5 Mbps), a current reputable browser, a working device - practically, screen space is good, and so lap and desk tops are better than tablets and phones - and a mic and earbuds or a speaker.
5.2.
Our courses are operating system neutral. We sometimes use delivery systems that require you also to register with a provider, like MS Teams.
5.3.
It’s your responsibility to make sure your tech and connectivity is up to scratch.
5.4.
Once you sign up and we have received your payment in full, we’ll send you login details. Keep your login private-don’t share it. You can change your password at any time through your account settings. If you think someone else has your login, change your password right away.
5.5.
Receipts are made out to the student.
5.6. Access is to usually to participate in the course just the once.

6. Curriculum and presenters

6.1. We often publish what’s anticipated to be covered in each course on our website. That’s generally a higher level description, and keep in mind that as you get into a course, detail or the way the course proceeds may be different. If you want to know more about a course than appears on our website then email support@reliabletrading.com and we can give you details.
6.2.
We choose the presenters, but may change or substitute them, including during a course. Your course may or may not be delivered by Sean Allison.

7. Fees and payments

7.1. All prices are in USD and must be paid upfront. All amounts listed include any applicable Australian goods and services tax.
7.2.
We accept credit/debit cards and electronic funds transfers (EFTs). When paying by EFT include something sensible in the reference field like your name. We don’t accept BPay, cash, cheques or digital currencies.
7.3.
If you're paying from outside Australia, your bank or payment provider will use their conversion rates and may charge you additional fees. Transfer enough so that we receive the full amount due. Remember, what you pay in your local currency may vary depending on exchange rates at the time your payment is processed.
7.4.
We may change our prices from time to time, but you’ll never pay more for a course after you’ve already signed up.

8. Refunds

8.1. Refunds are handled in accordance with Australian Consumer Law. Refunds will not generally be provided where:

  • you change your mind,
  • you can’t or don’t attend,
  • you can’t or don’t complete the course,
  • you did not use or can’t or don’t access the course materials,
  • we withdraw you because you have breached your agreement with us, or
  • you experience technical or other issues outside our control.

8.2. If you’re having a tough time, get in touch- we understand that life doesn’t always go to plan. We can’t promise anything, but we do look at hardship requests on a case-by-case basis.

9. Attendance and confirmations

9.1. You can’t physically attend our courses.
9.2.
Some courses have livestreams at particular times. These times may not be great if you are outside Australia. You can always watch or download a replay.
9.3.
Completion confirmations will be emailed to you for a course when you’ve finished all the requirements.

10. Support

10.1. If you run into access issues, our support team is here during business hours in Australia. Use info@reliabletrading.com.
10.2.
We aim to help as quickly as we can, but please be aware that we may not always be able to respond immediately, especially outside of our local business hours or during peak periods.
10.3.
Our presenters are not generally available one on one or by email or phone. They are not personal trading coaches.

11. Complaints

11.1. If something we do disappoints you, please contact us. We will do our best to resolve your concerns within 30 days. If you remain unhappy about financial services we provide, and you are a retail client (as the Corporations Act defines this), we will always tell you other steps you can take - one of these is to take your complaint to:

The Financial Ombudsman Service
GPO Box 3, Melbourne, Victoria, 3001 Australia
T: 1300 78 08 08 | E: info@fos.org.au.

11.2.The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) is independent of us. FOS does have some rules which may change from time to time, including that the claim involved must generally be under a certain financial amount – current details can be obtained from www.fos.org.au.

12. Changes

12.1. We can change these terms and conditions. We’ll post the new ones and usually let current student know if there is anything we consider really major.
12.2.
Check in from time to time: it’s the form of these as posted from time to time that governs your relationship with us.
12.3.
We take reasonable care in what we prepare. It may however have errors or not be up to date. Except to the extent law imposes an obligation we cannot exclude, no promise is given by us that Course Materials are accurate and complete.
12.4.
We change Course Materials from time to time but don’t need to send students or ex-students the changes.

13. It’s education, not advice

13.1. We’re here to teach, not to give personal financial advice. We are not financial advisers.
13.2.
We only ever provide factual information or general financial advice - advice that does not take into account your objectives, financial situation or needs. This is the case even though from time to time we may know something about your objectives, financial situation or needs.
13.3.
Nothing in our Course Materials or the Services represents in any way that any financial product or service – for example, a way of trading or any particular trade - is appropriate for you.
13.4.
If you feel unsure as to financial matters (even if you have learned things through our courses) we strongly recommend that you seek timely professional advice.
13.5.
Remember that opinions our team may give are just that - views on products and markets and trades. Opinions may prove to be wrong. Others may have different views. Make your own informed decisions. We and they don’t give personal advice or make promises.

14. Risk is always going to be there

14.1. Options trading carries risks and isn’t for everyone.
14.2.
No matter what we teach, no matter what you do, there is always some level of risk.
14.3.
We believe that education is one of the best courses of action you can take to better invest in the markets, but the reality is that no investment methodology, education or way of trading can eliminate risk.
14.4.
Even if you learn all there is to learn from us and apply that sensibly, there is no guarantee that you will make money or protect your capital.
14.5.
No example or personal trading information given by any presenter is ever advice for you to do the same.
14.6.
We’re not responsible for your losses or if things turn out different to how you intend. You accept that you’re responsible for your own trading decisions and outcomes.
14.7.
If you are uncomfortable with the possibility of losses, then it’s best you don’t start trading.
14.8.
Risk rises to crazy town levels if you trade when you are tired, pissed or stoned. Don’t.

15. The past, the future and timing

15.1. Past success doesn’t guarantee future results. The past (including past market or stock performance) is not a reliable indicator of what may happen in the future.
15.2.
And the future is unknown. Matters concerning what may happen in the future are uncertain and may not happen.
15.3.
And investment values can change quickly and significantly.

16. Australian based

16.1. If you sign up with us, you sign up with us here in Australia.
16.2.
For a period we had operations in the US and some students signed up with our US company, using their terms and conditions. Those will continue to apply for those student until the end of the course signed up for.
16.3.
New courses will be with us on our terms and conditions. Signing up with the US is no longer an option.

17. We own our stuff

17.1. We’ve put a lot of time and care into creating our courses and the Course Materials and when providing the Services!
17.2.
It is all owned by us.
17.3.
Paying for and being accepted as a student means that we grant you a non-transferable, personal licence to access and use the Course Materials solely for your own educational purposes.
17.4.
This doesn’t stop you backing stuff up. Or using it to trade through your own personal investment vehicle.
17.5.
But it does mean for example you can’t share it round your friends, share your log in, sit there in a course with your friends or use it to run an investment vehicle for the public.

18. Privacy and information

18.1. You must keep your contact and personal details up to date in a timely way.
18.2.
You must give us such information we reasonably ask for about you in a timely way, for example where law requires us to collect or report information.
18.3.
What people share in courses must be assumed to be private and confidential. Treat it as such.
18.4.
We collect and handle information about you as outlined in our Privacy Policy, a summary of which is available here.
18.5.
Generally, we use your details to run the service, stay compliant and communicate with you.
18.6.
We act reasonably to protect your information, but all businesses can be hacked. We can’t make promises.
18.7.
A summary of our Privacy Policy is on our website.

19. If you get things wrong

19.1. We can suspend or remove access if we suspect that someone has or is likely to breach these terms. We need not give warnings.
19.2.
This could be temporary or permanent, depending on the situation – we decide.
19.3.
If that happens, we usually won’t issue a refund.

20. Liability

20.1. We act reasonably to do what we promise, for example to provide a course or a particular presenter, but life happens: things happen we don’t control and things change at our end. We can’t tell you we will meet every promise we make.
20.2.
All obligations which might otherwise be implied or imposed on us by law or equity in relation to the Course Materials and the Services are expressly excluded to the extent permitted by law.
20.3.
To the extent permitted by law, loss arising to you from use of the Course Materials and the Services is limited to resupply by us.
20.4.
If we are liable for something, in no case will it be for more than what you paid us for the course, unless law requires a different outcome.
20.5.
Under no circumstances will we be liable for any special or consequential loss.
20.6.
We are not responsible for others, for example, brokers, exchanges and connectivity to the Internet and markets. We can use third-party platforms to deliver the course experience. If one of those services goes down or has an issue, we’ll do what we can to keep things going.

21. The lawyers made us

21.1. If any part of this agreement doesn’t hold up legally, we’ll treat that part as if it doesn’t apply-everything else still does.
21.2.
Just because we don’t enforce a right straight away doesn’t mean we’re giving it up. We can still enforce it later, and one waiver doesn’t apply to future situations unless we say so in writing.
21.3.
This isn’t a partnership or joint venture or other special relationship. We are no employing or adopting you. We’re just providing education.
21.4.
You can’t transfer your enrolment or rights to someone else without our OK.
21.5.
These terms are the whole agreement between you and us as to the course, the Course Materials and the Services.
21.6.
Any rights we have under these terms add to ones we already have by law.
21.7.
We can give or withhold approvals at our discretion, unless we say otherwise.
21.8.
These terms are governed exclusively by the laws of New South Wales in Australia, and you agree to the courts and other tribunals there exclusively sorting out any disputes.
